Privacy Policy

SearchShopAI ("we", "us", "our") operates the SearchShopAI commerce platform, including the API at searchshopai-mcp.fly.dev, the website at searchshop.ai, and integrations with third-party AI platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and others). This policy covers two distinct things: our website (searchshop.ai) and our commerce API. They collect different data, so we describe them separately.

Website (searchshop.ai)

• Forms you submit — When you request an audit, book a demo, or sign up for research notes, we collect what you enter: typically your name, work email, and website. Forms are processed by Formspree. We use this information to respond to your request and, if you opt in, to send occasional research notes. We never sell it.
• Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, buttons clicked, scroll depth). GA4 sets cookies and processes your IP address per Google's privacy policy.
• Advertising and conversion measurement — We advertise on platforms including LinkedIn, Google, and ChatGPT, and we use their measurement tools (the LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads tag, and OpenAI ads pixel) to learn whether our ads work. These tools set first-party cookies and capture standard advertising signals — pages visited on our site, advertising click identifiers (such as gclid or li_fat_id), and, when you submit a form, a hashed (irreversible) version of your email used to match the conversion. We share these signals with the relevant advertising platform for measurement and to improve our campaigns. Under some US state privacy laws this may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising. By using the site you agree to this measurement; you can also opt out at the platform level using LinkedIn's and Google's and OpenAI's own advertising controls, or by emailing us (see Your Rights).

Commerce API

• Search queries and product interactions — When you use our tools (search, recommend, compare, checkout), we log the query text, tool used, response time, and product results. This is used to improve recommendation quality.
• No personal information — The API does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or account credentials. It does not require sign-up or login.
• No cookies — Our API does not set cookies.

What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect or store any data from your AI platform account (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
• We do not collect payment or credit card information — all purchases happen directly on the merchant's Shopify store
• We do not collect browsing history outside of our own website and direct API interactions

How We Use Data

• Respond to audit, demo, and contact requests
• Measure and improve our advertising and marketing
• Improve product search and recommendation quality
• Monitor website and API performance and errors
• Generate aggregate analytics for merchant partners (e.g., most-searched product categories)

Third-Party Services

• Shopify — When you click a checkout link, you are directed to a Shopify-hosted checkout page. Your purchase is governed by the merchant's and Shopify's privacy policies.
• Fly.io — Our API is hosted on Fly.io infrastructure. See Fly.io Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — Our website is hosted on Vercel. See Vercel Privacy Policy.
• Formspree — Website form submissions are processed by Formspree. See Formspree Privacy Policy.
• Google — Analytics (GA4) and advertising measurement (Google Ads). See Google Privacy Policy.
• LinkedIn & OpenAI — Advertising measurement tags on the website, per the section above.
• AI Platforms — When used through ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot, your interactions are also subject to those platforms' privacy policies.

Data Retention

Website form submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond to your request and manage our relationship with you. API logs (search queries, tool calls) are retained while the service operates and are used only for quality improvement. Advertising and analytics data is retained per the relevant platform's defaults. We do not maintain long-term profiles of individual API users. You can request deletion of your API logs or form submissions at any time (see Your Rights below), and we will action the request within 30 days.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share the advertising and analytics signals described above with the platforms that provide those measurement tools, solely to measure and improve our marketing. We may share aggregate, anonymized analytics with merchant partners to help them understand product demand.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Request access to any data we hold related to you
• Request deletion of that data
• Opt out of advertising measurement using the advertising controls offered by LinkedIn, Google, and OpenAI
• Unsubscribe from research notes at any time via the link in any email

International Users

Our servers are located in the United States (Fly.io and Vercel, US regions). By using our service, your queries and form submissions are processed in the US.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
